Try The Aerator First
If the pressure at one faucet has dropped but the rest of the house is fine, the problem is very likely the aerator, the small screen at the tip of the spout. Mineral deposits collect there and choke the flow.
It unscrews by hand or with a cloth and a pair of pliers, rinses out, and goes back on. Much of the valley has hard water, so this is worth doing once or twice a year, and it is worth trying before calling anyone.

Establish Where It Is Leaking From
A faucet can leak in three distinct places and each means something different. From the spout when it is closed means worn internals, usually the cartridge or seat. From around the handle means the O-rings or packing. From underneath the sink means the supply connections or the body seal, and that one is the most urgent because it is putting water into the cabinet where nobody sees it until the base swells. We check all three rather than the one you noticed.

Identify The Faucet And Its Internals
Faucet internals are not interchangeable, so we identify the type and manufacturer before dismantling anything. Cartridge, ball, ceramic disc, and compression designs each fail differently and take different parts. We carry the common ones for the major brands, which covers most jobs on the first visit. For an unusual or high-end unit we will tell you upfront if a part needs ordering rather than discovering it halfway through with your water off.

Look Underneath While We Are There

We run hot and cold, check the flow and the temperature mix, cycle the handle through its full range, operate the diverter or sprayer if fitted, and then look underneath with a torch and a dry hand while the water runs. Connections that seem fine for the first minute sometimes weep once pressure settles. We also flush the aerator, since disturbing the supply frequently dislodges debris that ends up there.
